Antonio Nurzia, a longtime resident of Eastchester died on January 17, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born in Arischia, Abruzzo, Italy to the late Pietro and Emma (Taranta) Nurzia. Antonio immigrated to the United States at the young age of 21. He then learned his trade working alongside his cousin Amico Raffaele as a plumber. He worked for Heritage Plumbing, and was also a member of the Plumber''s Local Union 86. Antonio is survived by his wife Antonina Nurzia, his two children, Rita Williams (Kenneth), and Peter Nurzia (Mary). He is also survived by his siblings, Gina DeSimone, Amalia Ciano, Ada Zaccagno, Amico Nurzia, Angelo Nurzia, and Pierina Commisso, three grandchildren, Christian A., Bethany, and Lauren Nurzia, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER, on Wednesday January 20, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 21, 2016 at 9:30 AM at Assumption Church, Tuckahoe. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum Hartsdale, NY .
