Obituary for Ann Schiavone

Ann  Schiavone
JOHNSBURG, NY - Ann (Anderson) Schiavone, formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away on August 9, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was 73 years old.
Ann was born on January 9, 1943, the daughter of the late Edwin Anderson and Anne Hudjick Anderson, and the sister of the late Donald and Norman Anderson. She lived in Yonkers for most of her life before retiring to Johnsburg, NY in 2002.
Ann married Vincent Schiavone in 1965. She was the mother of Melissa Rosenberg and her husband James, Michele DePalma and her husband John, and her son Michael and his wife Erika. She was the proud grandmother of Nicholas, Vincent, and Anthony DePalma, and Demetrio Schiavone.
Ann was a dedicated mother, wife, and loyal friend. She took great pride caring for her family and her home. She was a voracious cook and enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her friends and family. She loved interior decorating and was an avid seamstress. Her most joyous years were spent in her retirement home in the Adirondacks with her husband of fifty years.
Ann had an incredible work ethic, working her way through high school in law offices. Upon graduation she worked for many prominent attorneys in Westchester County, eventually retiring from the Farrauto, Berman, Fontana, and Selznick Law Firm after more than 20 years as office manager and legal secretary. After retirement she continued to be active, volunteering for the Johnsburg Town Assessment Review Board, the Warren County Historical Society, and the Modern Courts Project evaluating the Warren County Family Court Expansion Program. Ann was also a volunteer clerk for the Johnsburg Town Court, where her husband is the Town Judge.
Ann will be greatly missed by her loving family, dear friends, her sister-in-law and best friend Lynn DeBuono, and her nieces Daria, Cathy, and Toni Lynn DeBuono.
Visitation will take place at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main Street, Eastchetser, NY on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 12PM-2:30 PM. Memorial service to follow.
